Setting "window.opener.location.href" to the required JSP file fails to reload it?

Try "document.location.href" instead.

Sometimes there are caching problems. To avoid these add a time/date 
stamp or some other random number to the end of the URL.

e.g. document.location.href = "myJSP.jsp?timestamp=" + escape(new Date
())
