Can I submit from a modal window to itself?

Pucker Brown, Can I submit from a modal window to itself?

Hi,
I am opening a modal window to display a monthly calendar. I want my 
users to either select a date or go to the next/prev month using the 
arrows on the page. I have a problem as when I say submit, it says 
object error. I believe its not allowing me to submit. 

Is it possible, can I submit the request on the same page and retrieve 
values in it.
