Is there a way to send values from a child window back to its parent without having to refresh?

Apr 6th, 2008 19:26
ha mo, Ole Clausen, Chris Ortman,

You can address the opener window by:
<button onclick="opener.myVar='Hello Chris'">set var</button>
Now the variable 'myVar' in the document that opened the popUp window
will hold the string 'Hello Chris'.
Note: Of course the varable 'myVar' has to be declared in the opener
document with:
  var myVar;
