my qmail spool is full. how can i delet the mesages in the /var/spool

Try qmHandle (http://qmhandle.sourceforge.net/).  You may have to edit
the script and change how you start/stop qmail.  I use it to purge
failure messages generated by spam bounces to invalid users which is the
majority of messages in my queue.
