Which folder should I ask my question in?

May 5th, 2000 06:51
unknown unknown, Nathan Wallace,

It's important to ask your questions in the correct folders. This is
important for two reasons.

Folders are arranged in a logical hierarchy. Questions within those
folders need to be appropriate for the folders otherwise it destroys the
whole logic behind the folder structure.

If you ask a question in a folder that isn't relevant it might not get
answered, and even if it does get answered the answer won't be as useful
for people as it will potentially be impossible to find unless using the
search capabilities of faqts. For those people that like to browse the
folders to gain knowledge and not specifically search particular answers
your question is non existent.

So, when asking a question try and place it in the folder that
fits the question topic most appropriately. If there are no relevant
folders create one.

If you believe your question relates to more than one folder it is
possible to ask more than one question that share the same answer.
Check out the Questions folder of the Help Knowledge base to find out
how this works.
