Method: via 'Start'->'Programs'

Steps: Overview:

 1. -click button 'Start'

 2. -select from list 'All Programs'

 3. -select from list 'Microsoft SQL server

 4. -select from list 'Service Manager'

 5. -A dialog box will open where you can
     choose to:

      1. 'stop'

      2. 'start'

      3. 'refresh'

      4. change

      5. choose

     your SQL server

Method: via Microsoft Windows task manager

Steps: Overview:

 1. -Run Windows task manager

 2. -Check if the program

      sqlservr.exe

     is running

     1. -select tab 'Processes'

     2. -to sort the applications in order
         to see it better, click on
         'Image Name'

     3. -check now if you see
           sqlservr.exe
         in the alphabetic list
