P2P stands for peer-to-peer and defined as: Electronic file swapping
systems that allow users to share files, computing capabilities,
networks, bandwidth and storage.
Why would anyone be interested in a p2p client? because you can
download the world from your home. Ever stuck in a searching engine
looking for your favourite mp3 song?Try it on a p2p
network.Basically ,it connects the personla computers of all people
around the world(whoever is logged in to the p2p).Contrary to
this, when you search something in a search engine, only websites are
searched(servers of websites),and so common sence, you wont get your
song on website servers(why should you?).But in p2p,you are actually
viewing contents of peoples hard disks. So you get anything you
want, because someboby in the world must be possessing it.So its like
searching your friends computer for mp3s and downloading them, that too
free of cost.
Finally, watch out for the software piracy issue. Internet is about
freedom, but you cannot live on the illegal edge of course.
