Can't find php.ini to update file_upload size only find a directories under /opt/php/lib/php/pear so

one way to figure out where the php.ini file is (or should be) is by 
creating a file (i typically name it check.php) that only contains the 
following:

<?php phpinfo(); ?>


The output of that function is 'everything you wanted to know about 
your php config', including where it thinks php.ini is (look in the 
first table, about 3 - 4 rows down)
