Powerpoint, Txt, web page with Google?
---
Steps: Overview:
1. -Download and install the program
GoogleDesktopSearchSetup.exe
from
http://desktop.google.com
2. -This will start indexing (when your computer is idle) all the
files from:
1. Outlook .pst
2. Outlook Express .dbx
3. AOL or CompuServe instant messenger (chat)
4. Word .doc
5. Excel .xls
6. Powerpoint .ppt
7. text .txt
8. local web pages .htm, .html, .htps
on your computer, so that you can search through it
fast.
3. -If you click on the desktop icon, or task tray icon for
'Google desktop search', you can then search in a similar
way as you search in Google in this local files.
4. -This is e.g. an ideal method to search for your email
conversations in mail lists (e.g. TSE mail list)
