When evaluating success stories, it is important to remember that some
pemphigus patients have complete remissions (meaning not taking
any medicine) for years, without apparent cause. I, for example, had
full remission for 9 years. During that period I did not follow any
special diet, did not avoid any foods or drinks, and lived a pretty
stressful life -- nothing happened. When after nine years I had a
flareup, it did not follow any special event. If during these 9 years
I was following some kind of diet, it would "prove" that dieting can cure
