Database: MySql: v4.1: Install: Error: 'Cannot create Windows service
for MySQL. Error: 0'
---
This must be a bug in the uninstall of your older MySql program
---
---
Steps: Overview:
1. To possibly solve it, go back a few steps in the
configuration wizard
(or run the wizard again by using the program
MySQLInstanceConfig.exe
in your MySql bin directory)
2. Clicking the 'Next' button, until you see
'Install As Windows Service'
3. Change the name of the service to another than the current name
e.g. change the name
MySql
(as this service exists already probably in your Windows
services, and is still of an old version of MySql on your
computer, you can see this by looking in the
'Windows services'
and right clicking on the service name, you see then that
it belongs e.g. to MySql v3)
to another name, like
MySqlv41
4. Finish the configuration
---
---
Tested successfully on Microsoft Windows XP Professional, running MySql
server v4.1.
