Microsoft: Windows: XP: Window: 2: How to easy show 2 windows
vertically/horizontally? [shortcut]
---
This will certainly save you a lot of time if you have to create 2
editing windows (e.g. one with your favorite editor (e.g. TSE), and one
other program) beside each other.
---
---
Easy arranging windows on your desktop
---
You can display any two windows side by side on the desktop
+----------++----------+
| window1 || window2 |
| || |
| || |
| || |
| || |
| || |
+----------++----------+
---
Steps: Overview:
1. -Click (left) on the first window's button on the Windows 'Taskbar'
below
+----------+
| window1 |
| |
| |
| |
| |
| |

2. -Press and hold the 'Ctrl' key

press and hold the <CTRL> key
3. -Right-click the second window that you want to open
+----------+
| window1 |
| | +----------+
| | | window2 |

| | | |
| | | |
+----------+ +----------+
+-------------------------+

+-------------------------+
^
| right click with mouse on
+-- button 2
4. -Select from list 'Tile Vertically'
+----------++----------+
| window1 || window2 |
| || |
| || | +-----
| || | |Cascade
| || | |Tile Horizontally
| || | |Tile Vertically <---
+----------++----------+ |Minimize Group
+----------------------+ +-----
| |
| |
+----------------------+
---
Note:
The same goes for 'Tile Horizontally'
---
---
Note:
This works quick and easy when you want to view two TSE or Internet
Explorer windows at the same time.
---
---
Note:
More than 2 windows:
The same principle goes for if you want to have more than 2 windows
(e.g. 3, 4, 5, ...) neatly behind or underneath each other.
---
Steps: Overview:
1. -Keep <CTRL> pressed,
2. -Then select one after the other the
buttons on the taskbar by (left) clicking on it.
3. -Finally at the last button right click and select
vertical or horizontal tiling.
---
---
Note:
After this the format of the windows remains fixed
(if you click on the
[]
[]
'restore' icon in the right top of your window)
Thus if you again click on that buttons (e.g. after minimizing),
that window will open in the same format.
So they still fit neatly behind or underneath each other
after that.

Tested successfully on Microsoft Windows XP Professional.
