Paperport: E-mail: Import: Copy: How to copy Email from Microsoft
Outlook Express to Paperport?

---

Paperport de Luxe v9.0

---

Method: Copy from Microsoft Outlook Express first to Microsoft
Explorer, then to Paperport

---

Steps: Overview:

 1. -Open Microsoft Outlook Express

 2. -Goto the e-mails you want to put
     in your Paperport

 3. -Open Microsoft Explorer

 4. -Drag and drop with the mouse
     your selected e-mails into
     a folder of Microsoft Explorer

 5. -Open Paperport

 6. -Drag and drop with the mouse
     your selected e-mails from
     the folder in Microsoft Explorer
     into a folder in Paperport

---
---

Note:

Direct drap and drop

Direct drag and drop of e-mails from
Microsoft Outlook Express to Paperport
did not seem possible.
(I got the message
'Cannot copy file: Cannot read from the source file or disk')

---
---

Note:

Centralizing your information: Keep it all in 1 folder

Thus using this method, you can keep
all your correspondence regarding a
specific subject (e.g. about a specific computer
subject, ...)
in one specific folder
(thus your emails, your scans,
 photocopies, pictures, spreadsheets, ...)

---
---

Note:

Reading e-mails in Paperport

If you can not read the e-mail
format in Paperport,

Steps: Overview:

 1. -Right click on the file icon in Paperport

 2. -Select from list 'Properties'

 3. -Select button 'View as text'

---
---

Note:

Transferring 2 or more e-mails

If you drag and drop a group of e-mails
from Microsoft Outlook Express to
Microsoft Explorer it might take
a few minutes for the conversion
to take place (your machine will
then be in a busy state)

---
---

Tested successfully on
Microsoft Windows XP Professional (service pack 2),
running
Microsoft Outlook Express v6
and
Paperport v9.0
