Steps: Overview:

 1. -Goto URL

      http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx

 2. -Click the 'DirectX' download link

 3. -This will start downloading the file

      dxwebsetup.exe

     (currently about 308 kilobytes)

 4. -Click button 'Continue'

 5. -Possibly validate

 6. -Click button 'Download'

 7. -Run the program

 8. -This will open a dialog box

 9. -Possibly accept the license agreement

     1. -Click button 'Next'

10. -Click button 'Finish'

11. -To test if it has been installed correctly, run e.g. this program
     'lighting.exe'. You should see a rotating pyramid.
