Microsoft Information Server: How to install Microsoft Information 
Server (IIS) on Windows 2003?

Steps: Overview:

 1. -Click button Windows 'Start'

 2. -Select from list 'Control panel'

 3. -Double click on icon 'Add/Remove programs'

     1. -in the left pane click on 'Add/Remove Windows Components'

     2. -Enable option 'Application server'

     3. -Enable option 'Networking services' (important, else it will
         not run)

     4. -Click button 'Next'

 4. -Have your Windows 2003 CD ready

To check if IIS is working in your browser:

type in the URL field of your browser the following text:

 localhost

this is the default, and is accepted without a login
