Keyword Density is the ratio of one word or phrase to the total number
of words in a text.
Sometimes the total number of unique words is used, rather then the
total number of words.
The basic formula is either
Keyword Density = Occurences of the word / Number of Unique words
or
Keyword Density = Occurence of the word / Total number of words
The density of one word in a ten word sentence having unique words only
is 10%.
The density of one word, occuring twice in a ten word sentence having 9
unique words, is 20%
An elaborate Keyword Density Analyser can be found at
http://www.ranks.nl/tools/spider.html
To make it simple keyword density can be calculated by just diving the
target keyword on the page by the total number of keyword on that page
and then multiply that by 100 to get a percentage.
