How can protection against USB security breaches be sought?

Firewalls and perimeter defenses cancan prevent data theft, but do not 
provide protection against internal attacks. USB downloads are 
undetectable and don’t leave an audit trail. Protection against USB 
security breaches can be provided only through policy driven and 
location aware security solution. While firewalls can block ports, they 
cannot manage file system transfers.
