If you had asked me this question a couple of years ago, I would have
said, “NO”. But thanks to the new versions of Linux known as
“distributions”, I would say replacing your operating systems from
Windows to Linux is great ideal as this will offer you a whole new
computing experience. The traditional version of Linux would frustrate
you with obscure command-line options. The all new version of Linux
called Ubuntu Linux 6.06 offers users a wonderful computing experience
with its easy-to-use and efficient features.

To begin with, if you are on Windows right now and spending quite fat
money on the security to guard against the various threats, I would say
you can save a lot of money by going for Ubuntu Linux as it repels virus
scourges of the internet. Apart from this, you can also get loads of
free software that come free which are also compatible with Windows and
Mac OS especially with dual-boot hard drive installation. Fireforx web
browser and Outlook Express are built straight into Ubuntu. Moreover,
lots of everyday use stuffs like burning DVDs, CDs, and plying media are
all there in Ubuntu that make it so much special.

This is considered to be the best alternative to Windows that allows you
surf web, write, work with graphics and audio programs right after you
install it. The best part is that it’s one of the open source software
which can be downloaded from the internet for free.
