RSS or Really Simple Syndication is a family of web feed formats used to
publish content that is very frequently updated like blog entries, news
headlines or podcasts. An RSS document is called feed. It contains
either a summary or the full text of content from an associated web
site. RSS enables people to be up to date with their favorite web sites
in an automated manner rather than checking them manually.
RSS content can be read using the RSS reader. The user has to subscribe
to a feed by entering the feed's link into the reader or by clicking the
RSS icon that launches the subscription process. The reader can check
user subscribed feeds regularly for new content and download any updates
that it finds.
