Do pages with PHP extension rank as well as HTML extension pages?

It is a very common misconception that html pages rank better than php
ones. The file extension does not have any affect your page rankings.
After all, no matter what server side programming language you use, and
what extension you choose to use with it, they all just boil down to
HTML in the end. That's all a web browser and a search engine will see
to rank the website.
