Is there a limit on the size of MySQL tables?

Can I create a table greater than 4GB in size?

Versions prior to 3.23 do not support more than 4 GB regardless of the
filesystem limit.

With later versions and the right file system setup many people have
very large tables, some larger then 20 Gb.
