Hoe can i read and write information in files using JavaScript? (in any browser)

Katia,
Internet JavaScript has no direct file access to any file system -
- either on the local PC or on the server. Combining Internet
JavaScript, the XMLHttpRequest object (i.e., AJAX), and your server-
side code will give you access to the file system on the server. For
access to the local PC's file system, only IE and a local or intranet
environment will suffice to give you access to the local file system
(via FSO).
     For AJAX information:

     For FSO information:

Take care,
Dave Clark
